Before I begin, I am sorry this happened to you. Feel free to reach out; there is a vibrational reason the internet brought you here.
Everything that happens to you is a result of subconscious processes that operate in a “cause and effect” manner. This means that this painful event has a reason for having happened. Most of the time, the reason is based on something you were thinking, feeling, or doing. However, remember that the situation can also occur due to something you will think, feel, or do in the future. In the Shamanic Tradition, we don’t focus on figuring out the “why” but rather the “what.” What do we need to learn from this, or what is life trying to tell us?
We also focus on healing our internal environment as soon as possible. We do this by using three tools:
Forgive: Forgiving is something you do for yourself; it releases you from dense emotions. Keep in mind that this should be repeated until the emotional wound is fully healed. It is not a one-time activity.
Be Grateful: Being in gratitude creates an atmosphere of grace. Regardless of what has happened, you are here now, in control of your attitude, judgments, and responses. Knowing this re-empowers you.
Explore: This tool reminds us of the great freedom we possess in life. Things may not always be perfect, but there are always new options to explore. Don’t ever let the limited apparent fool you out of your limitless possibilities. Life is always moving, so if you are ever unsure about going in one direction or another, you can always wait, knowing (having faith) that a new option to explore will appear.
As a last piece of advice, I recommend that whatever the situation was, you take a little time to define it in very objective terms. Our emotional intellect has a hard time quantifying things, so something may feel gigantic, and after some time, we may believe it to be so. It’s wise to use our left brain to measure what happened and how much damage it truly caused. From there, start using the three tools I shared above. Remember, this is a process that often needs to be repeated a few times, always going deeper within ourselves until we achieve self-realization through it.
