How We Can Love More

From a very young age I had an interest in spirituality and concepts of mysticism and philosophy. Later in life as my true purpose became unavoidable I always had a resistance towards one of the general messages spiritual communities impart. The idea that “love will solve it all, in my mind, looked like a bunch of hippies offering daisies in a violent riot.

It took many years for me to understand what “love” meant in my Path. I always saw it as a sweet emotion. As life has placed me in many learning situations, I now understand it as a personal choice. An internal decision that often requires conscious effort and will power. Love force is an energy that is entirely dependent of you. Unlike how most of us practice it, it absolutely has nothing to do with what’s going on in the world or how someone else is behaving, which often can be disappointing.

From a mystical perspective love is reverence. To revere is to deeply appreciate, honor and respect. I may strongly disagree with that politician’s sense of decency and yet can make the choice to vibrate reverence for what she is at her Divine Essence and how she is choosing her path back to Source. There are two more prevalent concepts I’d like to share here. In the Andean Cosmovision, we understand that “All is connected, All is One, All is Well”, this belief really helps in looking past questionable situations. Finally, all that “Is” in your realm-perception of time and space (Pacha) is actively engaged in its own Path of Evolution and thus must be respected. This is another great tool we have in Andean Shamanism, because we don’t judge the “product”, instead we look past that with reverence and seek to communicate, with its essence.
