I often get called to clear homes, properties or businesses that are having evidence of “strange” things happening in them. Sounds are heard when no one is there, things are moved or there is just a plain feeling that something is not right in that place. Shamans are a good and quick alternative, because we don’t see the situation from a religious or superstitious point of view. For us actually it’s not even metaphysical. The way we understand the mechanics of this world is through energy and vibration and this is what we will look for when called in to help.

One of the first things a Shaman learns is that the apparent is not reality. Reality is composed of many more layers which the average person is not conditioned to pay attention to. There is also the factor of “harmony”, which is one of the main tenets of the Andean Cosmovision. When a Shaman comes into a new environment, her main focus is to achieve, maintain or regain a state of harmony in that environment. We understand that if an environment is in harmony, all the aspects of it will be in optimal flow and function.

To us, a situation like a haunting is a series of energies that are discordant within a specific set of parameters. This is usually due to some miscommunication at some level. The language of energy is very different from the linear thinking most humans learn in school. Shamans on the other hand think multidimensionally. We pay close attention to small synchronicities, coincidences and natural phenomena. All of these “signs” could not have happened unless there is an energetic vibration that actively allows them in that perceived sphere. It’s not about a scary ghost for the Shaman, but rather about coming into an environment, “listening” and adjusting the circumstances accordingly for overall harmony. Everything that exists will emit an electromagnetic field around itself, what to some are ghosts, can be an aspect of this emission. There are other factors to be considered, but that is material for another day.
